What is STRETCH?

STRETCH seating is available in the front rows and exit rows of Airbus and Embraer E190 aircraft. These seats provide additional legroom in which to relax and enjoy the Frontier flying experience.

How much extra legroom do STRETCH seats have?

STRETCH seats in the front rows of the aircraft offer five additional inches of legroom giving up to a 36 inch seat pitch. STRETCH seats in the exit rows offer up to seven additional inches of legroom giving up to a 38 inch seat pitch.

Which Frontier flights will have STRETCH seating?

All flights operated on Airbus and Embraer E190 aircraft offer STRETCH seating.

How will STRETCH affect the current legroom in the remainder of the cabin?
The majority of seats have a 31 inch seat pitch, although non-STRETCH seating range between 30 and 32 inches in pitch.

How do I get STRETCH?
Except in select markets discussed below, access to STRETCH seating varies based on the type of Fare Option you purchase:

  • Classic Plus fares — you are eligible to upgrade to STRETCH seating at the time of purchase if available. You may also request an upgrade to STRETCH seating if available at check-in for a flight when you were not able to pre-assign a STRETCH seat.

  • Classic fares — you may purchase an upgrade to STRETCH seating if available at the time you purchase your ticket. Upgrades can be purchased when booking on FrontierAirlines.com or by calling Frontier Reservations at 800-432-1FLY (1359). You may also purchase an upgrade to STRETCH seating if available when you check in online within 24 hours of departure, or when you check-in at the airport kiosk, ticket counter or gate on the day of departure. STRETCH seating may also be purchased onboard the aircraft if seats remain available, but the Classic discount will not apply if purchased onboard.

  • Economy fares — you may purchase an upgrade to STRETCH seating if available at the time you purchase your ticket. Upgrades can be purchased when booking on FrontierAirlines.com or by calling Frontier Reservations at 800-432-1FLY (1359). You may also purchase an upgrade to STRETCH seating if available when you check in online within 24 hours of departure, or when you check-in at the airport kiosk, ticket counter or gate on the day of departure. STRETCH seating may also be purchased onboard the aircraft if seats remain available.

EarlyReturns® Summit members can reserve a free STRETCH seat on any of our Fare Options at the time of purchase if available. Summit members may also request an upgrade to STRETCH seating if available at check-in for a flight when you were not able to pre-assign a STRETCH seat.

EarlyReturns® Ascent members can request a free upgrade to STRETCH seating at check-in if available when travelling on any of our Fare Options. If you are an Ascent members who prefers to reserve a STRETCH seat rather than waiting to see if one is still available at the time of check-in, you may purchase STRETCH seating based on the costs and access of the type of Fare Option you purchased.

Market Exceptions — STRETCH seating is not available for purchase in advance of the day of travel on any Fare Option in the following markets: Cancun (CUN) to/from Cleveland (CLE), Philadelphia (PHL), Rockford (RFD), and St. Louis (STL); Cabo San Lucas / Los Cabos (SJD) to Chicago-O’Hare (ORD); and Puerto Vallarta (PVR) to Chicago-O’Hare (ORD). In these markets, not all aircraft have STRETCH seating. STRETCH seats may be purchased at check-in if available for the applicable upgrade fee as discussed above based on the Fare Option purchased. Summit level members of EarlyReturns® will be able to reserve STRETCH seating rows if available at the time of ticket purchase, but may be moved to a non-STRETCH seat if the aircraft operating the flight on the day of travel does not have STRETCH seating. Ascent level members of EarlyReturns® may also request a free upgrade to STRETCH seating in these markets at the time of check-in if available.


How much does STRETCH seating cost?
An upgrade to STRETCH seating varies in price based on the type of Fare Option you purchase:

FREE from $5/segment from $15/segment

Any fees paid for a STRETCH upgrade are non-refundable if you later decide to cancel or change your flight. STRETCH fees will be refunded per the terms of our Customer Service Commitment if you purchase a STRETCH upgrade and STRETCH seating is not available on your flight due to an unexpected event in Frontier's control, such as an aircraft substitution.

NOTE: STRETCH seating is limited and based upon availability. STRETCH seating is not available on Frontier Express flights.
