About Checking In
Frontier offers four check-in options — online at FrontierAirlines.com, as well as at the airport using self service kiosks, curbside check-in, or our service counters. Regardless of where you check-in, you must do so no later than 30 minutes before your departure for domestic flights and 60 minutes before departure for international flights. Please be at the gate and ready to board no later than 10 minutes before departure. We recommend arriving at the airport two hours or more in advance of your flight.
If you are checking bags, you must be at the airport check-in counter no later than 30 minutes before your departure for domestic flights and 60 minutes before departure for international flights. Please note the following airports have exceptions to the 30 minute check-in cutoff for domestic travel:

Curbside Check-In
Curbside check-in is available at our hub in Denver to get you through the airport faster. Curbside check-in is also available in Kansas City, Los Angeles, Milwaukee, and Washington, D.C. - Reagan National Airport. By using curbside check-in, you can receive your boarding pass, check and pay for bags, and then head straight to security.
Service Counter Check-In
If you need some extra help with the check-in process, our customer service agents are always available to help get you going with traditional counter check-in, available in all airports. If you are travelling on a Classic Plus ticket or if you are a Summit or Ascent member of EarlyReturns®, we invite you to look for the Priority Check-in lane at our ticket counters.
Traveling Internationally?
Please arrive at the airport at least two hours prior to departure. We strongly recommend coming earlier during peak travel times, such as holidays, because those lines are long...everybody wants to go. You and your baggage must be checked in no later than one hour prior to scheduled departure for international flights. Review baggage and passport requirements now.
After Check-In
Remember, your gate assignments and departure times can change due to operational requirements, so be sure to stay updated by checking the flight monitors at the airport.
We recommend being at the gate well ahead of your flight. We usually begin boarding about 30 to 35 minutes before departure time. In any case, you must be at the gate ready to board 10 minutes prior to scheduled departure or your reservation may be cancelled and your seats may be released to other passengers.
Effective February 1, 2012, Frontier has implemented Zone Boarding to simplify the announcements at our gates and to speed up the boarding process. When we board a flight, we board in the following order:
- Passengers with Special Needs — including anyone needing wheelchair or other boarding assistance and unaccompanied minors. For discretion, no announcement will be made for special needs boarding. If you require assistance with boarding, please check-in with the Frontier agent when you arrive at the gate so that they know you desire to board first.
- Priority Boarding and Zone 1 — offered to Ascent and Summit level members of Frontier's EarlyReturns frequent flyer program, as well as anyone traveling on a Classic Plus ticket. Zone 1 includes passengers who have purchased a seat in STRETCH seating.
- Courtesy Boarding — offered to families traveling with small children (under 3 years of age) and any other passengers requiring additional time or assistance with boarding.
- Zone 2 — includes passengers seated in SELECT Seating.
- Zone 3 — includes passengers seated in all remaining rows on the aircraft that were not in Zones 1 or 2. Boarding in Zone 3 will first be offered to anyone with only carry-on bags or a personal item that can fit under the seat, not requiring space in the overhead bins. Then passengers in Zone 3 who have items requiring space in the overhead bins will be invited to board.
Note: On Frontier Express Aircraft without STRETCH seating, Zone 1 will be for Preferred Seating Rows and Zone 2 will be for all remaining rows. There will not be a Zone 3.
