PASSENGER TRAVEL FAQS
What time should I check in for my flight?
We don't want to see you rushed, so we recommend that you get to the airport at least two hours before your flight. With increased security, it just makes sense. We can never guarantee how long your wait will be at the airport. It depends on so many factors, including weather, time of day, day of the week, etc.
The official answer, however, is that for domestic flights (within the U.S.) you'll need to be checked in no less than 30 minutes prior to departure for most of our airports. Some airports require a 45 minute check-in. Please go to Airport & Terminal info for these exceptions. For international flights, all passengers have to be checked in no less than one hour before departure.

Do you accommodate passengers with disabilities or who have other special needs?
We take special care to make sure our passengers with special needs are taken care of. We have a comprehensive section devoted to special needs passengers, and we invite you to look through it. In the mean time, the official answer is as follows:
We're guided by the requirements issued by the US Department of Transportation (DOT) regulation 14 C.F.R. Part 382; and we must make sure the carriage of such passengers doesn't impair the safety of the flight or violate Federal Aviation regulations. We'll gladly accommodate passengers with special needs whenever possible. We can't provide certain extensive inflight services such as feeding assistance, assistance with lavatory functions, or provision of medical services. How should I handle traveling with a wheelchair?
We'll accept one passenger's wheelchair in the cabin on Airbus aircraft in a priority stowage space on a first-come, first-served basis upon check-in at the airport. The wheelchair cannot exceed a height of 40 inches, a length of 50 inches, or a width of 13 inches, and must weigh no more than 70 pounds. The wheelchair can be accepted if it can be folded or collapsed to meet these dimensions.
When making your reservations, please make a request for the wheelchair to be stowed onboard. In addition, please notify our agents at the ticket counter at the time of check-in, and upon arrival at the gate area, so we can make sure the wheelchair stowage space hasn't already been assigned to another special needs passenger.
To learn more about traveling with disabilities, please feel free to visit the DOT website at www.dot.gov

I have a peanut allergy. Can Frontier provide a peanut free environment?
At Frontier, our concern is for the health and safety of all those who choose to travel with us. Although occasionally a passenger may advise a Frontier representative that he or she is allergic to a particular food, substance, or chemical, Frontier does not remove items from the aircraft. We do serve a variety of snacks on board many flights, including products that may contain peanuts or other nuts, and therefore cannot provide "peanut-free" service to passengers. Prior to making travel plans with Frontier, we urge you to speak with your healthcare professional regarding risks of onboard exposure to any allergen.
Does Frontier offer First Class?
We treat every passenger like a First Class traveler. However, to keep our fares affordable we offer only one class of service to all passengers. Frontier does offer STRETCH seating with up to 5 additional inches of legroom that are included with the purchase of a Classic Plus ticket and that may be purchased at the time of check-in when travelling on a Classic or Economy ticket, learn more.
Will I be able to use my laptop or cell phone onboard?
Welcome to the 21st Century! We're lucky to have all sorts of electronic equipment to help us communicate and keep us entertained. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has some rules that we need to stick to, as some electronic devices may interfere with our ground-to-pilot communication. All electronic devices must be stowed for taxi, take-off, and landing. Certain portable electronic devices (AM/FM radios, TV receivers, remote toys) cannot be used onboard the aircraft at any time. Devices such as laptops, CD players, PDAs, MP3 players, and DVD players may be used onboard the aircraft once the flight attendant has announced that it is permissible to use them. Please read the next question for our suggested alternatives to passing the time onboard.
Cell phones must be turned off once the main cabin door has been shut on all flights. They may only be used at the arrival location once the flight attendants have announced it is safe to use them. Some multi-purpose phones (like iPhone) may be used in flight if it is switched to the "airplane safe" mode; but, no calls may be made.

Will there be any food served on my flight?
Almost all of our flights have food available for purchase. Of course, all flights offer a free beverage service when flight time permits, as well as some alcoholic and premium beverages for sale. For details on our inflight catering service, click here. Passengers who purchase a Classic Plus ticket may select a snack from available items for free.
Do you charge for beer?
Beer, wine, and liquor may be purchased onboard for $5. However, our Summit Level and Midwest Miles Executive passengers may have free alcoholic beverages on our planes. In addition, passengers who purchase a Classic Plus ticket get one free premium or alcoholic beverage per flight.
What forms of payment do you accept for inflight purchases?

How old can my daughter be before she needs a ticket?
We know you want to hold on to that baby as long as possible, but the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has rules, and we must abide by them.
An infant is allowed to travel free of charge on the lap of an adult until he or she reaches his or her second birthday. Passengers with two lap children can't sit in the same side of a row, because there are only four oxygen masks per each row of three seats. Only one infant per paying adult is allowed to travel as a lap child. If one adult is traveling with two infants, the first infant may travel as a lap child but the second infant requires a purchased seat. Infants in his or her own seat require an approved car seat, which must have an FAA red label stating the following: "This restraint device is approved for motor vehicle and aircraft use."
Please visit our section devoted to traveling with children for more information.

Can I bring a stroller on the plane?
Strollers may be used to transport your child to the gate and then must be gate checked in the departing city. The stroller will be returned to the gate at your final destination.
My 11-year-old daughter wants to visit her aunt in San Francisco. What is the procedure for unaccompanied minors?
It's quite an adventure for a young person to travel on his or her own. We'll be there every step of the way to make sure he or she has a great experience. On flights operated by Frontier Airlines, we consider children from ages five to 14 to be unaccompanied minors when traveling without a companion of at least 15 years of age. Children under the age of five must always be accompanied by someone 15 years or older. Children who are age 15 to 17 may also receive the benefits of an unaccompanied minor if the parent or guardian requests special supervision. For your child's safety, we will only transfer a child to a flight operated Great Lakes or Midwest Airlines. Reservations for these young travelers may be booked online at our website, by contacting our eservations Department at 800-4321-FLY (800-432-1359) or with your travel agent.
How far in advance should I check in my unaccompanied child?
You'll want to leave yourself plenty of time to get your child checked in and situated, so we recommend that you check your child in at least two hours prior to departure. You'll need to escort your child to the gate and wait until the aircraft has departed the airfield before you leave the area. Once your child is checked in at the gate and it is time for boarding, our representative will escort him or her onboard, assist with any carry-on luggage, as well as introduce him or her to our crew. During the flight, your child will receive special attention during our onboard snack service, and will have a personal escort from the aircraft to the designated pick-up party. In other words, the rock star treatment! At no point, will your child be left alone during the drop-off and pickup points of contact designated in the child's reservation. Another important note, only the person listed on the unaccompanied minor's form as the designated recipient may pick up the child.
Can I bring my dog on the plane? He's really nice... honest.
Your small pet is welcome to be carried onboard the aircraft. If you would like to take your pet on your next trip, there are few things you need to know. For details, please refer to our traveling with pets section of the website.
How do I check in my pet?
Your pet will be handled with great care and will be treated as one of the family. We'll transport your pet as checked baggage. We charge $150 one-way for all sized kennels. However, if you purchased your ticket on or before November 2, 2009, we only charge $100 for small or medium sized kennels. For more details and procedures, please visit our complete section on traveling with pets.
I'm pregnant. Do I need to know anything special about traveling with you?
Congratulations! We know you want what's best for that baby, and so do we. Please check with your doctor if you intend to travel during your final weeks of pregnancy. Your doctor should be the one to guide you in your decision to fly. (And in a few months, we hope you'll visit our section called "Traveling with Children!"). If your itinerary contains a flight operated by one of our codeshare partners, check with the operating carrier to see if there are additional requirements.
