TRAVEL TIPS
special needs
Exceptional circumstances demand exceptional service. At Frontier, we're happy to oblige. Here's our "Top Ten" list of suggestions for traveling with special needs.
- #10 - Arrive early at the airport. Let the Customer Service Representative know how we can assist you.
#9 - Curbside wheelchair service is not available in many airports, but we can provide wheelchair assistance at the ticket counter.
#8 - Label all checked wheelchairs and scooters with your contact information. If special procedures are needed to operate a device, please attach instructions.
#7 - Our employees are happy to help passengers with mobility challenges in getting to and from the gate area using our company's wheelchairs or electric carts (where available). However, our wheelchairs aren't available for use during long layovers, so please make arrangements to find a place to sit while you wait. Wheelchairs may only be operated by airport personnel.
#6 - Take advantage of pre-boarding opportunities, if needed.
#5 - We have an onboard wheelchair designed to fit that aircraft aisle to assist passengers with mobility needs during flight.
#4 - Always carry medicines and special medical equipment with you. Be sure to put any medicine that needs refrigeration in a cooler with an ice pack. Assistive devices don't count toward the carry-on baggage allowance, so be sure to take these items on the plane with you.
#3 - We accept service animals in the cabin at no charge. The animal must occupy the same seat area as the passengers and can't obstruct an aisle or exit path.
#2 - If requested, we'll provide wheelchair service promptly on arrival of your aircraft. Please remain on board the plane until wheelchair assistance arrives. At times, assistance may be delayed briefly, depending on the number of similar requests throughout the terminal.
...and the #1 tip for special-needs traveling is...
Let us know how we can help. Our employees are available to assist you throughout your trip, so the more information you make available to us, the easier it will be to meet your needs.
