award ticket terms
Here are the rules, as determined by our legal guys:
- Award tickets may be issued for travel up to 331 days into the future when the schedule permits and are valid for one year from the original date of issue.
- Mileage from different accounts isn't combinable for issuance of any award, except via Frontier FastMiles.
- Upon confirming an award travel reservation with the EarlyReturns® Service Center, the appropriate mileage will be automatically deducted from the Member's account.
- Unused and unexpired award tickets can be returned to the EarlyReturns® Service Center and the miles will be re-deposited to the account from which the miles were originally withdrawn. Partially used award tickets can't be re-deposited. Frontier will impose a charge of $35 for the redeposit of miles into a Member's account.
- Reservations for free award travel may only be made directly with Frontier Airlines.
- Award tickets may only be issued by us. Program partners and/or travel agents may not issue our award tickets.
- All award travel must be via published routings, and to destinations offered by us, or for awards involving other airlines, via the routes of the applicable airline partner.* If a published routing doesn't exist between a desired origin and destination, alternative origins and/or destinations must be selected. The alternative is to redeem two separate tickets for travel between the two cities.
* Not all routes may be available for award redemptions. - All tickets must have confirmed reservations on all legs; no open tickets are issued.
- EarlyReturns® awards are subject to blackout dates and availability. Seats will not be available for redemption travel on all flights on all days. Available redemption seats depend on the flight, the date of travel, the expected demand for the flight, the season, the destination, and various other factors. However, EarlyReturns® Plus "any available seat" travel awards aren't subject to capacity controls and are available only to Ascent and Summit members for 30,000 miles when traveling within the contiguous U.S. or between the contiguous U.S. and Canada. Or for 45,000 miles when traveling to/from Alaska and Mexico and 55,000 miles when traveling to/from Costa Rica.
- Where applicable and permitted by law, any taxes, fees, governmental or airline surcharges (such as fuel) remain the responsibility of the Member and must be paid with a credit card at the time of reservation.
- Members may request date and time changes to their itinerary (subject to availability) for no additional fee. Changes in origin or destination, name changes, level or route changes requested after the issuance of award ticket will require payment of a $35 reissue fee per ticket each time the ticket is reissued. Once travel has commenced, name changes are prohibited. Any changes in origin or destination after travel has begun will require Frontier personnel to re-qualify the original round trip award and reclassify the original reservation into two (2) one way redemptions resulting in an additional mileage deduction for the new itinerary. The new reservation is subject to availability of the seats allocated for award travel, any blackout dates associated with the specific award and the original one-year validity of award tickets. Should travel occur outside the same category, the Member would need to request a new award and save the old award for a later date.
- Award tickets will be issued in the form of an e-ticket.
- Any Award ticket involving a partner will be issued on paper stock. Once issued, should the paper stock ticket become lost or destroyed, the Member must obtain a Lost Ticket Application from any Frontier Ticket Counter or by mail by calling the EarlyReturns® Service Center. The Member must pay a fee of $75 to process the Lost Ticket Application. Partner award tickets requested 14 days or less before departure require express issuance and will be delivered via express courier to the address on record of the Member. We won't deliver award tickets to a third party address. Express issuance requires payment of a $35 fee by the Member for each ticket issued. We can't process partner award ticket redemptions less than three business days before the departure of the first flight in the itinerary.
- Stopovers (overnight stays) aren't permitted for award travel.
- Miles can't be redeemed for flights operated by Great Lakes Aviation.
