The Fisher House Foundation

The Fisher HouseTM program is a unique private-public partnership that supports America's military in their time of need. It is the Fisher House Foundation that administers the "Hero Miles" program for the Department of Defense in accordance with Public Law 108-110, the FY 05 Defense Authorization Act. By donating your miles to the Fisher House Foundation, military men and women who are undergoing treatment at a military or VA medical center incident to their service in Iraq, Afghanistan, and their families are able to travel for free.

There are two categories of eligible recipients:

  • Service men and women with an approved leave of five or more days may be given a free round trip airline ticket for a trip from the medical center to their home and return if they are not eligible for government funded airfare.
  • Qualifying service men and women may be given free round trip airline tickets to enable their family or close friends to visit them while they are being treated at the medical center.

Colorado Wildlife Heritage Foundation

Since we're "a whole different animal" it's only fitting that we've selected the Colorado Wildlife Heritage Foundation as a charity of choice. Their mission is to ensure a wildlife legacy for Colorado today and tomorrow by securing and managing funds for wildlife projects. We need your help in leaving a legacy for our children and forever. Our joint program gives this non-profit organization an opportunity to provide additional resources toward the betterment of our State's wildlife by opening doors for our employees, employees of the Colorado Division of Wildlife, other wildlife non-profit groups and today's youth. Ticket donations are used to transport employees to educational seminars and wildlife experts to Colorado-based meetings. In addition, it gives the Foundation an educational opportunity for our urban youth to travel around the State to learn about our precious wildlife and limited resources.
