maintenance

Between the two of us we've worked in a bunch of the different Maintenance departments. That's one of the great things about this group. You can move around easily when there's an opening. Working on a C-Check is probably one of the most exciting things to do, although it is a lot of work. For about three weeks we work on one plane and pretty much take it apart to make sure we've inspected every inch of it. Then we rebuild the entire plane. You can really see what goes into these Airbus aircraft. They're amazing machines.

Right now we're on the Return Overnight (RON) crew and are mostly responsible for making sure the inside of the plane is in top shape. It's all the little things that can mean the most to passengers, even if they're taken for granted. We make sure that all the overhead reading lights go on, the tray tables work properly, the arm rest trim looks the way it's supposed to, the carpet looks new, and stuff like that. Frontier's proud to have one of the youngest fleets in the country and it's really our job to make sure they stay young.

One of our best moments working with Frontier was when we helped build a replica of the interior of one of our Airbuses for flight attendant training. This project took about a year and half, with a lot of work from a lot of people. It helped Frontier save a ton of money because flight attendants no longer had to rent a replica from another airline. When it was all done, it was featured in Frontier's reality TV show on the Travel Channel. It's so cool watching TV and seeing the replica and thinking, "I built that!"
