flight attendants

Each month I work with our scheduling department to map out my flights. I have friends that will work any day or time as long as they can get to their favorite cities. I enjoy most Frontier cities, so I try to have a more flexible schedule and have more days off in a row. Once my schedule's set, I try to make sure I get to the airport early. This gives me time to sign in, hang out in the crew lounge, meet with my crew for the day and catch up with friends. We then get ready for the flight.

People don't always realize it, but a flight attendant's most important responsibility is passenger safety. When we get on the plane we do the basics like making sure the aircraft is set to go and that all the emergency equipment is the way it should be. We also have the important job of helping passengers understand why we have certain policies, not just what the policies are. A lot of times, it's not just the information, but how you say it that makes all the difference.

I feel responsible for making sure our passengers have a comfortable trip... and we get a lot of feedback from passengers saying that we do a pretty good job. Customers really notice when we go the extra mile. It can make their whole experience better. People often expect travel to be stressful, so we try to do simple things like smiling or treating them like family to take away that stress.

One of the highlights of my day can be the shuttle to a crew hotel. It might sound silly, but on most of these shuttles you hear customers talking about their travel experiences. I love it when I overhear a customer talking about how we made their travel experience more than they thought it could be.
